Engine Knocking

Engine Knocking
I've had my 2005 Honda Accord Hybrid for a few weeks now and I just recently noticed a knocking noise coming from the engine. It can only really be heard when you're standing next to the car while it's idling and since I rarely do that I'm not sure if it's always been there or if it's new. Just wanted to know if anyone else has this or if I need to take it into the dealer. Thanks!

Re: Engine Knocking
I never noticed the noise. Could be some parts aren't broken in/seating properly yet, but that's a rare thing nowadays. See if its still there after you put on 1500 miles or so, then take it in and see what the dealer says.

Re: Engine Knocking
I have a similar knocking noise. Our car only has about 400 miles on it though.
I'm guessing it's due to the break in oil that Honda uses. More than likley the lifters are not getting filled properly with oil which in turn is causing alot of chatter in the valve train.
Like gonavy suggests I'd see what it sounds like after you get the engine broken in. I would recommend using Mobil 1 synthetic oil. But that's just me.
