Question Disabling indicators on HAH dash

A) I put black electrical tape over the charge/boost indicator and mileage indicator on my 2005 HAH. Can these be disabled electrically?

B) Why do this? I've driven the car enough to have a good feel for the IMA status and these visual indicators distract me from the really important stuff - outside the car. Anybody else observe this phenomenon?

Quite so. I keep thinking I'll get used to the charge/boost and mpg indicators, but it never seems to happen. But I find I'm using them to get better at hitting and maintaining the sweet spot with the ECO and boost lights on, so I don't want to black them out just yet. But I agree they're a distraction.
