Re: Current MPG - 11/26/05
Thanks bar10dah. I figure I only used about 4 gallons of gas for a 160 mile round trip--so at about $2.20/gallon, under $9 total! Plus the $ money I saved from shopping at the outlets! Really, I see that this could actually be a bad thing because I may be doing more shopping than I should...hahaha.

You've discovered the strength and achilles' heel of the HAH- the heel being your hellish-sounding commute, where the HAH more or less remains a simple V6, and then she shines on the highway. I hope you get to hit the open road more often in her!
I've been playing with CC more lately, and coasting in gear instead of neutral. Not using DWL as much, and using DWB more, by staying in gear to slow. I have not seen an appreciable change in FE, since my drive is mostly flat except for overpasses, etc. But it is more relaxing! I'm starting to believe the Ford engineers who say that you can't beat the computer, except maybe on hills.

If I see a light that I believe will turn red by the time I get there, and it's quite a distance away, I'll shift to N then back to D just so regen braking doesn't happen, but ECO comes on. I haven't noticed any change in FE. But then again, looking at my database entries, I suppose I wouldn't. Too much of a rollercoaster...
