Auto trans problem update!

Auto trans problem update!
I have news about my 4 month old HAH with the auto trans light flashing and the auto stop feature not working. The dealer ship informs me that a mouse has chewed the connector wire to the auto trans fluid control unit and that it would need to be re-wired. This is not covered by my warranty and it will cost me $40 for parts and about 3 hours of labor costing me around $308. How unlucky can I be that out of the 70+ cars parked in the same lot at work and 20+ cars parked in my neighborhood at home that the mouse liked my car. I can't imagine what would be left of my car if I lived in the country.

WHAT???? Did he SHOW you the chewed wire? That's pretty funny, if it weren't costing you $300 out of pocket. At least they found a definite cause- far far better than the mystery problem that nobody can pinpoint.

Did this start sometime AFTER you purchased the car?
If you noticed this problem immediately after the purchase, you could argue that this might have happened on the dealers lot, in which case they should be responsible for fixing it.
