News to me (that they got approval to try 'em out on real roads).
Sounds like they are a ways away from Prime-Time (available to the public), though.

 

Toyota and/or Honda will perfect the next generation of hybrids about the time we're all ready to trade in our current ones.

 

Yet Honda is decidedly quiet about this..

With that 8 mile range, I couldn't even get to the next city! They seriously need to expand the battery capacity of the test PHEV Prius (Individuals have filled the trunk with them already in their own custom plug-in Priuses). That and look into better battery technology, and how best to protect the extra batteries during a collision.
