Re: need help reconditioning battery pack for 2007 hch2
Based on an ESTIMATE of the current draw of two 40W bulbs in series, in the discharge from 187V to 130.2V, you extracted APPROXIMATELY 4700mAh. That's much better than what I expected given your prior description of grid charging results. If the subpacks are otherwise healthy, this is a very workable capacity.
Please confirm you are charging the pack with the IPU lid on and sealed with the MV charger charging the pack and driving the cooling fan.

I just tried to get the MV running again and its acting real wonky. No longer showing a rate of charge (used to be 299 or 300) and the voltage is moving around, eventually it settled on 8 . But the readout doesn't look solidly indicating 8. some of the lines that make up the 8 are not deeply illuminated and others are. The cover is reinstalled and the ima fan is running strong.

I didn't see this until just now. I don't know the internals of the MV charger, but most grid charger's struggle to charge at very low voltages. They send small pulses of current as the power supplies turn on and off. Eventually, they bring the voltage higher until the units can charge at their intended current. Hopefully, by now the charger is pushing 300mA consistently. Note that the 26 hour clock doesn't start until the charge current is consistent.

sure... numbers.... voltmeter shows 151.3 volts. the maxvolts voltage readout is dancing between the number 8 and the number 3. the mv grid charger current delivery amperage readout shows nothing, not a zero, just nothing. I've turned off the grid charger for now because I am going to sleep very soon.

Very unfortunate. I assume you've tried disconnecting the harness from the charger and powering the charger to see if it can deliver a peak voltage?
If you can't get the charger to work, I recommend you purchase the following:
https://www.mouser.com/ProjectManage...sID=820f414a86
This will allow you to build a 350mA charger good to up to 200V and can easily charge at lower voltages.
You will still want the MV charger in place to drive the fan.

I tested the 5 pins inside the harness connection. Voltages show 70, 260, 265, 275. I had one probe pressed to the top left pin and the readings above are when I probed pin by pin. Seems to me the mv is probably fine.
