I just got a 2007 Civic with the Navi and less than 1000 miles on it. The navigation system doesnt dim the display at night-time even though i have set it up to the "AUTO" mode. I always have to set it to "NIGHT" for it to dim and then reset to "DAY" or "AUTO" when the sun is out.

Any suggestions?

 

You have to turn your lights on to get it to switch to night mode.

 

I did, and it still doesn't dim.

 

ahhh found the answer to my own question.

I had set the brightness on the instrument panel to the highest level which disables the night dimming. I just turned down the brightness level one notch and it dims properly now.
