Default ignition

It's been a few days since i've driven my car.... And when i started it up today, it started like a normal gas car, meaning the car shuttered and i had to hold the key in the ignition and wait for it to start, etc. as opposed to the silent start and a quick turn of the ignition. I hope this make sense... but anyways, has anybody else experienced this?

Default Re: ignition

The HCHII does have a normal starter in there, but typically it's only used when the air temperature is extremely cold. However, it might also be used if there's a problem with the Integrated Motor Assist sytem. I found this thread with info gleaned from the Service Manual:

https://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/...-all-us-15839/

It outlines the various reasons the car might use the conventional starter in the "Integrated Motor Assist (IMA)" section (near the top of page)
