How much did you dealer charge for this service?

This will be the first car I've ever owned that required it. (also my first Honda)

 

if the car is under warranty (and sometimes even if it isn't) the dealer should do this without charge.

 

They don't do oil changes for free, so why would they do this? (if it is indeed considered a maintenance item). Perhaps this is free in Canada and not the US?

 

If your under warranty (and most of us still are under the hybrid warranty at least), they will do software updates under the warranty for free if you are having a problem. In my case, it is frequent recalibration of the battery controller so the first thing they tried was updating the software. I'm not sure what they would say if you just brought the car in without any problems and asked for an update.

If you are out of warranty, I imagine they would charge you for labor, but the "parts" would be free I think--unless Honda decided to get into the software business....

 

I would think Honda would do this even if your warranty is over as this is important for your packs regen being managed properly! I think this would be the same in US as well as Can.. H
