Hello, my car has found a new way to drive me nuts. Every time I come back from a drive, I lock the car and put the keys away. Without fail, the car always ends up doing this short burst of 7 beeps from the horn at seemingly random times. Sometimes it could be 10 minutes after locking the car, other times it could be the next day or even later. What is going on?! Is it the shock sensor? Why does this happens EVERY time after I turn the car off? As if our neighbors need more of a reason to dislike us, this is ridiculous!

Quality of 12V batteries is hit and miss. Not uncommon to get one DOA new on the shelf.

Honda charging algorithm is also garbage for long 12V life.

 

Hi Steve, I got a replacement battery today but when the auto shop checked the level of the old battery.... it was still at 12.85 - almost in new condition. Did I get a new battery for no reason?

 

Possibly. My statement wasn't intended to be a definitive solution. I would expect you to check it first.

 

I literally checked as I was replacing the battery, and then the guys at the auto shop said it was too late to return since I already placed it in my vehicle. You owe me $150 Steve.
