HCH 2006 w/Navi - Does it have RDS?
Does the 2006 HCH w/Navi have RDS stereo?
Radio Data System, or RDS, is a standard from the European Broadcasting Union for sending small amounts of digital information using conventional FM radio broadcasts. The RDS system standardises several types of information transmitted, including time and station identification. RDS is standard in Europe since the early 90s, but less so in North America.
Radio Broadcast Data System is the official name used for the U.S. version of RDS, though the "RDS" name seems to be at least as common in usage.

My wife drives the HCHII with Navi but I have not noticed any RDS information showing through the display. It would be nice. When you play from the flash card, you can read the artist and song titles however.

I don't think it does. Almost all of our stations out here broadcast the RDS data and I'm not seeing any of it on my navi. My wife can see it on her mountaineer but nothing on the hch-ii.
