I had mine installed in November, 2006 at the dealership where I bought the HCHII. The invoice was for $144.64 (parts, labor, and tax), but that total was marked out and replaced with $125.00. I think they told me it would be done at a certain time, I got dropped off at the dealership well after that, and they still weren't done. This was in the evening and I had dropped off the car early in the morning. Anyway, I think I complained and got a little bit of a discount.

thanks! After calling around my local dealers a bit, I found a different dealer who quoted me at ~$150, and then ended up completing the job for #135-- so I guess that is pretty much in line. But I appreciate the feedback; it's nice to know I ended up in about the same range.

Wow sounds like the dealer are making a killing on the install.

Check out this Canadian dealer, the install price is only $57!!

Their total price was $157.99 before tax. Since this is in Canada, it would be equivalent to about $154.53 in USD. I would assume they also charge some tax and maybe charge for shop supplies.

My price was $137.85 before tax. The breakdown was $65 for the engine block heater, $13.45 for coolant, $59.40 for labor, and $6.79 sales tax for a total of $144.64. As I mentioned before, I ended up getting that total discounted to $125.

I am no talking about the part, we always pay more up here in Canada for everything, but thats another thread all together. I was just refering to the price of the labour charge.

What I am planning on doing it to order the parts online from the States, then get it installed in the dealer, should work out to about $100 installed.

How cheap are you going to be able to get the engine block heater for? I just don't see how you can do that for $100 total.

Sorry to pull this thread up from the dead, but just FYI: I got a quote last night from my local dealer (Tamaroff Honda in Southfield, MI) for $120 installed.. ~$127 w/tax. That includes parts and labor. I plan to get it done in a couple weeks. My wife drives several ~2 mile trips per day and it's killing the FE now that winter is nearly here.

I also found a 7-day digital timer with 8 on/off event memory on sale at Ace hardware for only $5 a couple weeks ago.
