Cool night's drive . . . finally got 60mpg!!
It took a cool evening to finally catch on to the rythm of the pulsa and glide system. I think it helped to be pitch black out...no distractions, just me, the car and the road.
I had just filled the tank for the second time since purchase, had about 5 miles of city driving then rolling highways. Since it was 65F out I turned the A/C off and when I got home 38 miles later she was on 60 mpg.
I thought maybe it was a fluke, new tank error or possibly just the cool night drive. But then I drove today over 100 miles (with about 10-15 in city traffic) and she sits in the garage with 60.1 on the mpg for the 139 miles. Of course today was mild enough I still didn't need the A/C but it was daylight, warmer and with road distractions.
Now if I can still get this milage while someone is in the car with me, I have a feeling that when visiting with a passenger I will not pay es much attention to my newly learned driving skills. I guess the more I drive the more ingrained it will become??? Please tell me this is so!

I hope to be saying in 5-10 years "This dam car only gets 50mpg"... but for now, it's nice to gloat that we get 2x-5x the mpg of 95% of the cars on the road!!
Congrats on your 60mpg. My highest is 50.4, but it's only got 2,000 miles on it - still breaking it in

I only count by the tankful figured with the calculator. My best is a little over 51mpg in a 565 mile tank. However, it is fun to start off a tank at 60 plus, but I've never been able to keep it there for the whole tank. Someday, I'm going to drive to the top of Donner Pass, fill up, and head downhill and see what I can do for a 100 miles or so
