Default Under carriage cowling

I changed the oil on my HCH last weekend and the clips that hold the cowling on are rapidly deteriorating.

Has anyone replaced them? Might you have a part number for them?

Or, has anyone found a better way to deal with these pains?

They're pretty inexpensive at your local Honda dealer. They'll know exactly what you're looking for

I avoid my local dealer if at all possible.

At the very least, I do cost comparisons on-line to be sure I am getting the correct price.

For example, the dealer wanted $1.50 for the crush washer for the oil drain plug. I ordered them on-line for $5.00, free shipping. For 100. That's $.05.

Go figure.

I got 24 on ebay for $5.00. They seem to work fine. I have replaced about half of the original ones with the oldest replacement on the car for about a year.

As far as those "stinkin" clips, I replaced my with some I got at the local auto parts store. I think they were called "Rivet-Tite". They are plastic push rivets just like the OEM connectors but are much easier to take out and put back in. I've removed and reinstalled them about 3 times now and haven't broken a single one. Cost me about $3.50 for 10.

I have throuble with the factory clips also I'll give the Rivet-Tite clips a try. As for the crush washer on the oil drain plug, I replaced it with a Teflon washer from the auto parts store at the first oil change. 22 oil changes later I am still using the same washer. (I change the oil every 5k)
