2 probs; CVT and Clicking
I have an '05 HCH, and my CVT hesitates between "gears" sometimes. If I floor it (which is probably a bad idea) sometimes the CVT doesn't engage after "1st" and the RPM will shoot up and I have to take my foot off the gas. Sometimes it will hesitate cold too, and jerk into gear.
After reading some other sites I think that it could be a combo of the belt, CVT clutch, and needs a fluid change (it's due).
My second problem is that sometimes when I reverse, and then go forward, I heard metallic clicks that come from the front. It's worse when it's cold. It almost disappears when it's warm (I only noticed it once since it got warmer). Sometimes it also happens when I turn. My friend said that it sounded like CV joints, but she's not familiar with HCH's. Anyone have this happen?
please email me if you know, I might not find my way back here;

slop in gears can cause that and I know there are no gears, but there is a flywheel which is attached to the tranny and it is on a spline, the teeth on my flywheel broke clean off after years of causing minor problems that the service dept said, "ah, there's nothing wrong with your car." I myself have been unsure of what the problems are with the vehicle's transmission, i'll tell you when I know which is better than I can say for Honda
My CVT has been slipping during moderate to light excelleration for the last 50,000 or so miles. I've been backing off a bit on the gas ever so slightly when slipping occurs and it settles down.
I believe there was a service notice about slipping and juddering on starts. They even extended the transmission warranty to 110K or so. The service guys can calibrate the start clutch and things in there to make it run better. Also, it helps A LOT to change the CVT fluid. It seems to slip more as the fluid gets old. I change mine about every 25k.
