'taps on mike' anyone out there? CNG question
I have been toying with the idea of putting a CNG conversion on my Yukon effectively making it a 3 mode hybrid. anyone have any thoughts on this?
waranty concerns? driveability? Buehler---Buehler...

Jet; your Yukie has a fairly complex system where the engine, hybrid, and brake controllers all communicate with each other. On two (2) 500k baud rate CAN busses. They all share torque information. How much the engine is producing at any time, how much torque the brakes are expected to provide or are providing, and the hybrid is the master controller. Unless you get a CNG reconfigured hybrid specific engine controller that can coordinate with the hybrid, it won't go well.
thanks thats kind of what I thought but it is an interesting idea especially when you look at the realestate where the spare usually goes.
thanks for the reply!

if only we can program it where the battery is Li-ion and can be rechargeable and run more than 20mph, maybe up to 50mph-this would be perfect. compared to the rest of the hybrid in the full size SUV segment, nothing beats it hands down!
