Latest update on the saga of the beast.

First good news in two months.

The parts needed have arrived in at my original supplier in London and are being sent on to Greece.

So with a bit of luck everything should be sorted for when i get back to Athens in the middle of next week.

I was wondering if any US based 08 Hybrid owners could e-mail me any notifications they get from GM about recall/advisories. It would help me a lot to keep up to date with the updates coming out of GM Towers in Detroit.
And i'd be happy to send you something from sunny Greece as a thank you.

After almost 3 months, I am back behind the wheel of my Tahoe H.

I can't tell you how good it is, and how great it feels.

I have missed the beast so much in the months its been at the dealer awaiting parts from the US.

The original order has still not arrived, so if it were not for my original supplier in the UK. I would still be without a ride.

Thanks for all your suggestions, and i will post some pics of the beast here in Greece in the next few days.

I 'm experiencing the same with my 2008 Yukon Hybrid In Amman Jordan.
The GM dealer is working on replacing the wiring harness in the transmission. after long battle with reprogramming and diagnosing the modules.

Please stair me in the right direction. on what to look for.

Your dealer should use a Tech2 on your truck. Its a computer diagnostic, and plugs in below the steering wheel. When something goes wrong it immediately highlights what is wrong and they can work out what parts are needed to repair it.

These are the part numbers required.

Harness - p/n 29545086 (replaced p/c 29546932)
Harness - p/n 29544334
Retainer - p/n 19168276
Gasket - p/n 29544375
Filter asm. - p/n 19168277

Check when your Yukon was made. I suspect it was made January - March 2008.

You can find it on the sticker on the driver's door.

Jet 1 who posts here also had the same problem with his Jan08 built Yukon. There is apparently an recall advisory from GM in the states to repair this item.

I had to wait ages to get the parts - probably due to GM going through its restructuring.

If you have a problem getting the parts I can put you in touch with my dealer in the UK who sourced the parts for me.

Mine was in 12/07 !!! That explains it.

I just got the truck back from the GM dealer her in Amman after the mechanic opened the transmission case and checked the wiring harness. he was able to see some defect in the harness plug and ordered a new harness.

Where you able to find the defendants between the old Harness - p/n 29545086 and the new p/c 29546932? I'm wondering if they made the wires any thicker. or they redo the plugs referent.

My transmission temperature gets to 185 sometimes specially when parked and running on hybrid mode. the kids like to watch movies and we leave the a/c on for them!! I still could not find out why the transmission generate heat when parked and the engine is off "hybrid is on but no movement".
