Default New To Forum, Introduction and Question

Hey guys, Just stumbled upon this site, I have a 2009 Silverado hybrid that I bought brand new a year ago, It currently has 39k on the odo, I grenaded the motor at 3k, but other than that so far I am pretty happy.
Can anyone give me some insight into 30k transmission service, is it a normal fluid filter swap, or is there more involved servicing the hybrid components? i would like to avoid the dealer if possible, thanks in advance - Scott

Nothing normal about it, and you have an 8 year/100K mile powertrain warranty on this trans, so take it in for service, if it needs service, so you have proof you maintained it.
Also, the service for the trans at 30k is to check the fluid level.
The filter gets replaced at 100k miles.

I second having it done at the dealer. I even have my oil changes done at the dealer (which I have never done in the past) because I don't want to have an issue if a major warranty problem arises. My dealer has indicated this is a very unique vehicle and it's very important to follow the recommended maintenance schedule including tire rotations and alignments for this vehicle. they also warned me not to alter the wheels or tires (even though they offered to sell me giant expensive aftermarket wheels when i bought it). I'm concerned that although my dealer has been very accommodating with past vehicles on warranty issues, this vehicle could be a different situation if say the transmission blows up and i have put 24" rims on it.
