Hello, i have a hybrid silverado 2009.
Today, driving back home from bowling, the truck wouldn't go to electric mode.
Or auto stop.
Also i noticed the fan from the battery would not turn off, battery vents are not dirty nor blocked, and i noticed the battery hot to touch,cold start from a 5min
drive to home, after about 3 hours on the parking lot.
I dont have warranty on the truck currently has 167500 miles, engine runs fine no problems at all. No engine light.
I am thinking on opening the battery and replacing the bad cell if needed.
The ones from Prius 2nd gen work with these?

Prius cells will work. You need to figure out which one.

 

hello, hillbilly_hybrid, next day, the hybrid battery was cool, and worked fine.
No problems at all, turns out it was a hot day 110F.
i was on a 40min traffic jam. with a constant auto stop.
I learnt that i can avoid this by setting the A/C to both floor and front vent.
to keep the battery cool.
