Default hummm...emissions problem problem solved!

I took my Yukon in today as I have safety and emissions requirements to get my renewal. The dealer just called and told me they can't get their computer to read the emissions as they have not done one before.
Gosh I sure do like to be the fist one.........NOT!
maybe they will give me a really swell rental for the weekend.....more to come.

they needed to turn the computer ON...that works every time!

Is this one of those emissions tests where they put a probe in the tail pipe and read it with some portable analyzer while revving up the engine in neutral?

If so put the shifter in M or pop the hood to keep the engine idling. Then they can run their test.

I am on the Nevada DMV page right now. See quote from

http://www.dmvnv.com/emission.htm

page down to Exempt Vehicles.

"The following vehicles are exempt from emission testing:

New motor vehicles on their first and second registration;
New hybrid-electric vehicles for the first 5 model years;..."

Yes, as far as I know, no state has figured out how to test the hybrids. Can't do low-speed stuff, as the engine shuts off. No tailpipe gasses = failure, even though it is not polluting...
