Default growling noise after engine shut down

Waaa, waaaaaa, wa, noise after engine shut down. When going into autostop, or truning the key off, this weird noise coming from the top of the engine. It does it about 3 times after each engine stop. With the hood up, it feels like the noise is coming from the top of the engine. Almost like a growling noise. Ha!
Any ideas?
