Thank you sir!

Yes, A/C was on full but the lowest set temp was the same as the outside air temp.
Not much I could do. Headlights on, stereo on, stuff plugged in to 12V ports.
No rear defrost.

If you think it’s a good idea I can do it again on a warmer day.

Hard for me to wrap my head around that... we've NEEDED A/C for over a month now.

Probably worth another run when you REALLY need A/C.

There was a heat wave here for the last 3 days with temps in the 90's mid afternoon.
Today the heat broke and a cold front came through just in time for me to do the test.
Cold wont be around long. Supposed to be over 80 again tomorrow afternoon.

These are our "feels like" temps.

seems like the first good testing older pack.

just for reference in city traffic flat ground my yukon seems to charge to 62-63% at most, on highway for a while it seems to target about 55% soc.

only time I see anywhere near 70% soc is popping the hood and letting it run and even then about 68% is all it wants to do, that last 2% takes a very long time. it just doesn't put charge current into it.

with the ac pulling 8-12amps depending on outside Temps, just under a 100 here regularly. it will go down to 43% before starting the engine, go up to 46% go back into auto stop and repeat.

I don't know if it's really good for it, but if I know I'm going to be parked for 20mins or more, I just pop the hood to let it idle. the ac works better too, watching the compressor rpm on the tech 2 it is higher with the engine running and higher driving. once in auto stop the compressor rpm slows down and you can tell a little bit in vent temp. probably something gm programmed in.

If your battery is in decent shape, it's ultimately less stressful overall to simply sit there and allow the battery to cycle in the 3-4% range it wants. If you have a strong preference for what you're doing, the only real downside is the potential for more heat into the battery due to the charging at higher SoC.

That's what you tell yourself, but after 27 years, I'm starting to not believe me.

I've got some °C to °F targets memorized, and my off-grid system's battery reports in °C, so I'm semi-fluent for a colonist. My favorite is 22°C.

While we live in the Phoenix area, we've got some high desert land at 6500'/1980m, and even this time of year we see 16-32°C daily ranges. Just a couple weeks back, we had a heat wave where highs were over 38°C. The best thing about it is it's truly a dry heat, and there is no heat-islanding since it's very rural. As soon as the sun sets temperatures plummet.

27°C is pretty marginal for putting a steady load on the A/C. I'd wait for 32 if you can get there.
