Default Bouncing off Rev Limiter Under Hard Acceleration

Hey all,
Lately I’ve been experiencing something like a slipping clutch at high RPM when accelerating with 100% throttle on my 2011 Yukon Hybrid. I have had the truck under big load before towing and have had it matted without a problem where the CVT will just hold max RPM, but lately it’s been bouncing off the limiter and jerking almost like the trans disengages above 5000 rpm and engine freewheels up to 6000/limiter with no towing load.

Does not appear to do it in Manual mode, but that’s no fun, I love having the CVT optimize for torque and just hold RPM when accelerating. No codes found…

Anyone had this happen before? Could it be cold weather induced? 130k miles on the truck. Gas mileage seems normal for this time of year.

As far as I know, yes. I will check the fluid level. What’s strange is it does it at maybe <25°F ambient regardless of trans temp, and when it’s a little warmer outside it does not have a problem.

could be the AUX pump they die out at around 100k ish miles

mine slips also ONLY specifically with the A/C on(from a STOPPED speed) it also did it with a P0069 Barometric sensor code(Lower Barometric sensor ) engine runaway.

I would not say an actual transmission slip as it works perfectly fine with the A/C OFF

the engine also REVs at 30mph before it closes out to auto stop

check the Barometric make sure it matches to the MAP sensor on "KEY on"..

this suggest an issue with the AUX pump or HV battery

personally i'm looking at this for a replacement
GM Tahoe hybrid Lithium upgrade pack - 20 blocks – NexPower Energy (projectlithium.com)

I'm getting mine replace on Wednesday. (the AUX pump).. i'll get the suv back on Thursday

I know this is an old post, however since these trucks use one of the electric motors as the torque converter 9in simple terms) have you checked your battery?

Try it again with the battery around 65% charge and see what happens. sounds like a weak battery (cell).
