2008 Hybrid Brakes Failed Several Times
I am so greatful that there is 8 pages to this post. The more people who know, the better.
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to contribute. Positive or negative, it is all great info.

There are several Hybrids that have also not had the brake problem so it must be possible to resolve this issue. Again if you feel so strongly that this is a safety issue which I do why not follow it to the end and have it resolved, then let us all know. Maybe you could negotiate an extended warranty for all the problems you have had.
"Extended Warranty"...probably not.
Their response was that it is "likely fixed" so I offered to pick it up. They refused to allow me to pick it up or drive it so I am stuck.

I agree with Jet1. If there has been "at least 4 others" than post something to support that statement. Otherwise, it is hearsay and carries no weight.
Ah, “proof”…ha, well, I think very soon you will have your proof. Although, I find no reason to prove anything to anyone. If you are not interested in this post, please don’t read it. We all have that option.
1. Do your own research. You should never (I repeat, Never!) take anyone’s word for anything.
2. Just from this discussion board you will find more than 4 issues.
3. Search the internet and contact those involved, personally.
4. Don’t post or send emails from within GM on this matter. Don’t you know your IP address is visible?
For me…proof? How about secret email received from an anonymous person within GM (yes, you can pull the IP information from webmail). How about contradicting emails from GM employees on this matter? How about talks of a class action lawsuit from other GM vehicle owners?
Fact: According to GM an engineer examined my vehicle and found that there was an issue with the braking system…possibly due to the metal shavings in the Master Cylinder
Fact: I have a Fixed Operations Manager telling me that he tested the vehicle and it failed. He found the vehicle unsafe to drive, as during his test drive the brakes failed twice. Now this is after the 3rd trip to the dealership and after I was told that the vehicle was fixed and ready for pickup. It was his decision (not mine) that the vehicle should not be driven any longer as GM was unable to determine the problem. Not hearsay, I have it in a GM email.
Fact: I then had a representative from GM in Michigan (a Business Performance Manager) call me and tell me that they agreed and the vehicle should be replaced.
Fact: When the rep and I could not come to a resolution, GM decided to send another (yes another) engineer from Michigan to examine my vehicle. I was then offered a rental car for approximately 10 days as the examination may take longer due to the holidays. That was on a Friday…
Fact: On Monday, the Fixed Ops Mgr sent me an email saying my vehicle was ready for pickup. Hmmm…is it only me who sees the problem with this? I doubt it. I asked to speak to the engineer but was told that wasn’t possible. I then asked to speak to the Ops Mgr’s supervisor and was denied again.
The problem is at least 2 times I have been told that my vehicle was ready for pickup only to have them fail again…again…and again. See my reluctance?
Oh and strangely enough, I was told by the Michigan folks that the engineer was coming down to examine my vehicle, but they denied it via email. But someone forgot to tell the Ops Manager of the deceiving lie, because when he called me on Monday he told me that he had been there and had released my vehicle. It’s hilarious! The lies have snowballed and no one there knows truth anymore.
I believe it’s time for the media to get involved.

Well Trock55 brakes can be fixed and there are several Hybrids that are operating fine. I would flush the entire brake system on the hydraulic side by taking it apart. If i could not verify that all contaminats were removed from a line or component then i would change that line or component, this is just an idea. I am sure this problem can be fixed by GM and I am sure they would want to. I am very tierd with this post as I beleive this forum is about helpping owners and not slaming the manufacture. I am done.
