Electric car design
I had decided i could build my self an electric car and after converting an Austin 7
to electric power was intent on designing an EV from the ground up
Well my friend Colin Horsefall was a fitter electrician
and i was an electrician fitter so we had each others skills after a few experimental prototypes we got the basics of design
sorted out
that was when my Neighbour Mr Steven Black observed our primitive
efforts and lent us his book called fitting of humans to cars
he said only 3 published as he did not want the contents to fall
into the wrong hands wow what a book
things like he had a person drive a bucket seat car and then a bench seat car
and as a hypnotist asked which was the more powerful car
yes the bucket seats were (both cars were equally powerful
Photo copying was new then and we got a few essential pages copied
When returning the book to Mr. Black we found out
he was an electrical fitter- book writer on car design - a hypnotist - and a medical doctor
that was when we found out he designed the Morris mini on its design team
so here is what we designed in the car pictured
the batteries were in the front and the front suspension was attached to a central point
in the middle of the car so the battery weight made the car lean in like a motor bike
the front nose cone was filled with foam and acted as a buffer in the event of a head on crash
and flung the passengers away from the impact
the headlights had a strong orange lamp hidden at the side to shine
into the head light so when indicating the whole head light lit up and at night the head lamp would shine
white orage white orange WOW what a excellent system
the bucket seats -like the mini and the gull winged doors are still not copied by modern cars yet
you will see they have the front hinge attached wider than the back
this enabled the rear of the doors to raise higher than the front and enabled the passenger
to just stand up and walk out
we made the rear wheels on a swing arm suspension that also had rear wheel motors attached
we tried to get money to mass produce this car but had to design and build the NEEV electric truck
and we built about 11 trucks and had an established manufacturing system
this was when we wanted millions of dollars to redesign the CONZEPT to a production car
and tis was when the Oil barrens discovered our seriously advanced electric car design
and used dirty tactics to shut our company down
so folks this is why in 1981 the most advanced electric car in the world never got made
a few years later after we had hidden the car on a farm we fetched it removed the motors etc
and sent it to a scrap yard so this design would not be stolen off us
