Its that time of the year again...
Cold weather season (it'll be -23c tomorrow morning). Just curious as to what my cold weather neighbours get for mileage once the cold weather hits. I've blown through a quarter tank of gas and have less than 100km on it so far. In warm weather season the first 100km barely touches the fuel gauge.
Unfortunately I don't have a garage to park my 08 FEH in so i'm limited to plugging in the block heater at night which doesn't do a whole lot to help my fuel economy.

The colder weather and changing to snow tires costs me about .5L/100km, or 2-3 mpg.
If you live where the roads are salted (and I agree there's no need to salt them at -23) it's much better in terms of rusting to keep a car outside with a block heater than in a heated or unheated garage.
