If I were you, I'll select...
1. less probability to get an accident
2. less exhausting nerves
...
99. less time to arrive
100. less fuel use

When the fuel efficiency is the same, choose the fun route or whatever you feel like on any given day. I use a slower route in the first mile or so to optimize ICE warm-up and a slower route for the last mile to maximize electric mode. The part in between tends to be the shortest route and I don't get bent out of shape by highway speed segments.

There is merit in the arriving with a calm state of mind, thinking about what you'll do at the destination. Hopefully, looking forward to the goal at the end of the trip.

Stop and Go, Stop and Go will put more use on the battery.
Using the highway more will put less stress on the battery.

I can in my situation, use P&G and go a route under 40 MPH and get about 54 MPG with tons of battery use.

I can go home another route, and keep a steady 45-55 MPH and end up with about 45-48 MPG with hardly any battery use.

I'm starting to favor the second route....
