Steve, I'm trying to catch up with you.

That may never happen though.
You are averaging 56.9 MPG.
And that's with 12 tanks.
I only have 4 tanks with 54.5 MPG.

BTW I use cruise control 99% of the time on the freeway (53 MPH).
I don't do the "drive with the load" thing yet.
Maybe that would help.

It is the city miles and short trips that kill my MPG.

Monday morning I raised my tire pressure from 32 to 40 psi, (sticker says 30, tire sidewall max is 44.)
Now it's Friday so I have one week of data.

Here is this week's MPGs for my morning commute of 17.2 miles:

Mon 61.3
Tue 63.5
Wed 62
Thu 60.9
Fri 65.3

I have no idea why it varied to much.

This is 97 % freeway at a cruise control setting of 53 MPH.
No hills, but not absolutely flat.
No driving with the load, just cruise control.
Temp about 65 deg, no rain.

BTW my tank so far is at 59.8 MPG with about 70% used.
I may just get a 60 MPG tank afterall.

I have no patience for the cry babies who say they can't get the EPA estimates.
We are proving they can be met and exceeded by a significant margin.

It is interesting to see the variation in the same trip over time. My round trip to work this month varied 74.4 to 83.6 so far.

As far as "Hyper Mileage Club” goes...
I'm a little worried that when winter rolls around, that I will not be able to keep above the EPA estimates.

Looking back at my data I show that I had a few tanks in the low 60's and even one *GASP* 58 mpg tank.

These trips down to Chicago aren't helping either. Too much time going 65-70 miles an hour on the interstate are dragging my tank mpg down.

___Since Lamewing popped this one back to the top; I thought I would add a comment or two.

___Why not pull that Naperville and back run at < 55 mph the next go around. I haven’t missed a 100 mile segment in over 8 weeks and I am sure you will gain your first if you just slow her down a bit. If it is less then 75 degrees F, you can leave your WAI and Radiator block installed as well. There has been Easterly/Westerly wind directions vs. the normal North/Southwesterly around the bottom of the lake as of the last week or so which does not help but 100 + mpg over your segment is still quite doable. Call me before you make the run unless you have already left for the weekend and I can give you a few tips about how to handle the terrain after Rt. 132 (Grand Avenue Exit) on I94 out to I55/I355. The killer climb really starts on I55 from the I294/I55 toll booth and you can bypass some of it by taking I88/I355 instead.
