I suspect he didn't mention FASing or drafting or 'proper' setup because the first two may be illegal, and since he was testing the car for a report I would suspect he would want to test it configured to dealer specifications rather than being optimaly set up for FE.

 

Some of you are missing the point ... a Twin Turbo V8 Diesel capable of Autobahn cruising speeds and significant 'heft' getting 40 mpgs beats most anything for sale in the US in its class. Perhaps the Mercedes E class CDI is the only thing close but then its not nearly as powerful as the Audi. ,

Let's keep things in perspective here. Let's imagine we take this 'diesel technology' capable of running a ULSD/Biodiesel blend in a bit smaller displacement and mated it to hybrid technology ... tell me you're not interested?
