figuring out the MPG
Kristi,
I've got a HCH and it has 2 trip meters. I started out using one as tank average, and the other as lifetime (so I would never touch it).
what I found is that as your miles build up, your average tends to sort of lock in at a pretty hard number, and I found that gave me alot less feedback on driving technic.
I started using trip A for 'trips': whatever, trip to grandmas, trip to grocery, trip to printers (have a home office- so no commute) & trip B for per tank mileage. I found that with the shorter average of whatever the current trip was, I got more instantaneus feedback on getting my average mpg up, and I drove more economically.
besides you get the fun on some of the downhill runs of seeing it go way up!
have fun driving your new escape- we almost got one, but decided on the honda instead.
