ford escape, my miles is avg. 28.3 mpg. i have 8300miles.

My last 2 tanks averaged 27.8, but my overall average is 26.6. I only have 1900 miles on my 2006 FEH 4WD. My wife is also averaging 26.6 and she has just over 1000 miles on hers (also '06 FEH 4WD)

I was surprised to see that the average fuel economy on the dash was actually the lifetime average and not just the past couple hundred miles. It was dead on. I was keeping my milage in Excel and when I set up a formula to give me the overall average, it all made sense.
