Default Fusion Tax Credit AFTER 9/30/2009

I read somewhere that the tax credit of $1,7000 ends on September 30, 2009. Does anyone know if the credit will still be available AFTER 9/30? I'm thinking about trading in my 2007 MMH for a Fusion within the next six months or so.

The tax credit drops to $850 on October 1 (through March 31. 2010). If you take delivery in 2009 you can qualify for the credit on your 2009 tax return. If you wait until 2010 to take delivery, you will file in 2011 against your 2010 taxes. If you are going to order, allow up to 12 weeks for delivery, and the plant is down the last week of December.

After March 31, 2010, the Ford vehicle credits expire.
