Default FFH Heated Seats Don't Turn On

Hello all,

I just bought a 2010 FFH. I have found that the heated seats only work some of the time. Half of the time turning the car off and restarting it fixes the issue, but I would like a more reliable fix. I am about to take it in to the dealer to get them to look at it, but am afraid that they will not see the problem (intermittent electrical problems are the worst to troubleshoot). I read on fordfusionforum.com that at least one other owner is having the same problem. Any insight you guys could offer would be much appreciated.

Good Luck,

Six trips to the dealer later and Ford can't fix it, looks like they are getting me a new car.

Got my new (replacement) FFH yesterday evening. Interestingly enough, the electronics in the 2011 have been modified so this issue cannot possibly happen.

I was incorrect about the electronics change. It has happened again on the 2011.

The heated seats in the escape only work below a certain temperature. I went thru this for months with my dealer.

Bottom line is, they work every time for us when it is cold out, they never work when its warm.

I don't know the temp and i dont know if its related to cabin or outside air temp.

I hope this info helps.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it is not a temperature dependent thing for me. I can cycle the ignition and it works fine; and, even if it were temperature dependent, at 40 F they should work, as should the rear defroster. That is interesting what you say about the FEH, because my 2008 FEH does not seem to be temperature dwpwndant ( but I have not tried it over 90 F). Neither the owner manual or the service manual make any mention of the seat heaters being temperature dependent (other than the heater being regulated by a thermostat) for either the FEH or the FFH, but I will ask the Field Service Engineer when I take my car back in (for the fifth time).
