Utah is not a CARB state, but CA is. I don't know if the Federal warranty would go to 150K if the vehicle was bought used in Utah.

That may be true today, but it was 8 states whe the car was sold, and the warranty was issued.

The car needs to have been purchased in one of those states, and needs to be registered in one of those states at the time warranty service is requested. Where you live or use the car in time in beteween does not matter.

Example: I bought my 2005 FEH in Calif. It has been registered and used primarily in Colorado, and is now in Colorado. At 130,000 miles, I have no warranty left.
If I sell it to someone in CA, they will get 20,000 miles of warranty to March, 2015.

Extended warranties have their place and can be useful to have, at least if you use Ford's. Private label warranties: check out the company since some can be scams.

Consumer Reports doesn't like them as they believe they are overpriced.

But, while on active duty, I had these for all of my household appliances. Reason: I wanted my wife to be able to just pick up the phone and get something fixed while I was away.

Otherwise I do most of my own work on cars and so follow Consumer Reports thinking. But, you know, they can be useful.

At 112,000 miles I've not had any of the things mentioned above. So I'm on the side of those who would help pay for others.

So far so good, headed toward 200,000.

You probably had it fixed by now. Just wanted to add that mine has been occurring the past couple of mths. I noticed that it happens when the outside temp gets warmer and the HV batt cooling fan comes on high. The dealer replaced the $40 Actuator with the bill coming to $380.
