I'm prolly 75:25 (hwy:city). I needed the SUV.
As gpsman said...it mostly comes down to your driving habits but also as snax says if you are getting an SUV anyhow....
I live in southern Alberta...very rural...mostly prairie with some coulees (long deep swells in the land). I have slowed down to the speed limit on the highway...sometimes more...sometiimes less on the highway...I usually try to keep the rpms around 2-2500 and this nets about 30-33mpg (except when there's a good tail wind which will give around 38mpg!).
With some change in driving habits and the FEH I've easily cut my fuel consumption in half ('99 lifted jeep cherokee @ ~14L/100k to 7/100k).
