Who has 05 and 06 FEH?
I have done exactly that many times and I have noticed the same thing, although I have yet to be able to prove it other than gut feeling.
I drive the exact same route to work every day at the same time. What I haven't done lately is driven it in the '05.
I bought the '06 just as I was really getting pretty good with the '05 AND just as the weather was getting really warm. When I started driving the '06 every day I was getting killer milage from day one. So, it is really hard to determine whether my mileage difference was due to me getting better mileage or the '06 being that much better than the '05.
If you look at my two vehicles in the database (Hybridder and Rebrid), you will see the progression.....I bought the '06 in June. My wife has been driving the '05 since and has never driven the '06 yet.
I just wish they would hurry up and repair my '06 so I can get rid of the ****ed gas hog rental. I'll be commuting in the '05 for the next 6 months or so - we'll see how I do in the '05 (in the cold weather again).....

Time for an update in the '05 vs. '06 discussion.
I have been driving the '05 for a week or so now. Since the temps have moderated a bit in the last few days, I have been driving in some of the same conditions as I had been driving the '06.
Guess what? I am finding that although the '05 seems to be a little more reluctant to go EV, when it does, I can go a longer distance in EV than I could with the '06. Since I am such a creature of habit, I drive the same route all the time and have gotten to where I know the spots the ICE will kick back in. I made it to my house from a certain stop light tonight all the way in EV (including a killer hill to my house) that I have never done in the '06. Even with the cold mornings, my tank average is 34+ and rising.
To be continued.....

In most cases, its under the "Optional Equipment" heading. It'll say "Job #2 Order"
Here's a link to an example from Village Ford in Dearborn (where I got mine). Remember, there are still a LOT of 2006 Escape Hybrid "Job 1" models still in the distribution chain, so be careful.
