What Happened? My Best Tank. First 30+.

Re: What Happened? My Best Tank. First 30+.
Both of us have Mariner Hybrids that hit
our lows in fuel economy during the Winter
months and build up from there once we
get some warmer temperatures. My first
year low was 28.6 and moved up from there.
Last years low was 29.6 and now I am at 32.1
with a gradual increase upwards in gas mileage
every month. Hoping for a 30.6 low this year
which equaled what my car was when I had
the full sized spare tire with the same rim that
is on the car installed in February. Was 30.8
when we had the mud flaps (splash guards)
installed along with the window deflectors
in April. Thought the added weight and
resistance would hinder gas mileage but
as of this writing this has not seemed to
happen much at all.
The misses Mariner Hybrid currently is 32.5,
last years low was 29.6 also, does a little
better than mine in city driving, whereas
mine gets slightly better on the road gas
mileage than hers does. Her 2006 MMH
was purchased in April 2006 and has 11,000
miles. My 2007 MMH was purchased in
September, 2006 and has 24,000 miles
on it.
