I have a 07 FEH with 93k miles, I just noticed some fluid leak on the garage floor, checked it out today it is read fluid from the transmission (see photo). It appears to be a slow leak. I have heard in order to repair these transmissions you have to replace the whole thing for $4k (more than value of the car).

I am looking to sell it in the next two months (already pre-ordered Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid). Carmax says the car is worth $3000, which I checked before finding this problem.

Anyway, what should I do... sell now, fix it, or wait it out for two months.

 

I decided to take it to a local transmission shop and check how much it would cost.

 

Keep us posted. I'm interested in what they'll have to say.

Does the shop have experience with the hybrid ecvt transmissions?
