I stopped by the dealership unannounced today and talked to both the service adviser and the mechanic who is in charge of all FEHs. The mechanic actually knew of the TSB and I was eventually given the same run-around. "We will order the part and call you!"

Stay Tuned.

My service advisor talked to the parts manager and the bushings are still on nationwide backorder. 1-2 weeks. I am guessing that they are manufacturing a new part and they aren't done yet. Presumably they just go to whoever manufacturers their bushings and say "we need this bushing but in 7/8 instead of 3/4".

I'm almost getting used to the squeeking....almost.

I didn't see were anyone had actually posted a copy of the TSB. Try this:

[new link posted later in this thread on 1-31-2007]

The text of this TSB tends to indicate that there has been a fair amount of engineering attention paid to solving this issue......regardless of the experiences of forum members with service reps/techs at the dealers over the past several months.......in particular, the warning notes and figures 3 and 4 could only have been generated by someone who has actually tried to install the fix - several times.

Hope this fix really works. Counting my blessings I don't have the squeak.

Yes, somewhere waaaaay back in this thread people were complaining about not having a fix immediately. Others recognized that this fix would take some engineering to get it right. The delay of more than a month in solving this problem is evidence of how much work they put into it. Now we are all just awaiting the availability of the replacement parts.

My dealer did the tsb for me Friday. So far no squeaks! Lets hope it stays that way.

Which TSB? The original one which simply repositions the mounts and only works temporarily....or the latest one which requires installing a new bushing and widening the shock mount? I'd be surprised if you got the second one already as the parts had been on backorder nationwide until this week. I guess its possible your dealer was more proactive and called you when the parts came in rather than mailing a letter like my dealer!

My parts are in as well and I'm having mine done on Tuesday. Mine's REALLY bad now and I'm looking forward to getting it fixed finally.

On a side note: When they were looking for the source of the squeak (even though I told them about the TSB and that I knew it was the suspension), they greased the latch for the rear hatch and now it closes much better and I don't have to slam it to make it catch.

Got the "fix" done today. Didn't hear a sound on the way home. We'll see how she does this afternoon on Philly's not-so-smooth roads.
