Reconditioned HV battery conundrum
I could use some advice. I recently purchased a 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid (66K miles) and was told by the seller that the HV battery was bad. Turns out the auxiliary battery was bad, HV battery is fine. Before investigating I purchased a reconditioned HV battery from Greentec. I could return it and bite the bullet on restocking and shipping fees ($600-$1000 total), store it for who knows how long, or replace the original battery (and get my $500 core deposit back) that could continue to work for who knows how long.
Been through a similar experience? I'd greatly appreciate any wisdom you can share!

If there were no adverse events where the battery was abused, it's highly unlikely the original battery is bad.
It would probably be worthwhile for you to obtain Forscan and evaluate the battery looking for any signs of degradation.
