Hey Walt, I'm not as lucky as you...I have an 07MMH and I got the letter last Friday. I guess I should call my dealer and start asking about this one.

I think that they went into the battery but the evidence is circumstantial because when I tried to find out exactly what was done I could not talk to the mechanic that did the service and the service rep didn’t know anything. That said it looks like they went into the battery but I could be wrong. I did not find any additional parts on the outside of the battery that I could see without removing things.

On another note I just got back from a 150 mile trip that a make periodically and got 2 MPG better FE than the same trip other times with similar weather and road conditions! It’s to early to say that the re-program definitely made a difference but I will continue to monitor it.

Confirmed! My service order shows that they replaced part 7M6Z*14A303*B not sure why the *s are there but the part number matches!

Keep us informed. I always felt the 2005 FEH was about 1-2mpg from where it should be MPG wise (compared to the '06s and '07s). Maybe a "reflash" will help...

Those are the more usual dashes. The P/N is sometimes written as 7M6Z-14A303-B

Hmm.

I called my local dealer, but they have to order the part to do it. I'm also planning on getting the oil changed when I do it, since it's getting to be about that time.

It's possible as a result of the new software in the HVTB your battery was forced to recalibrate. This might increase the usable capacity...

My preferred dealership doesn't yet have the part. We just happened to be taking our '06 FEH in for its 10k service (we're a little over 10k now) and to finally have that rear end squeak addressed (provided them with a copy of the TSB for that one... thanks to GreenHybrid!) Asked about the "Customer whatever program" non-recall recall and they don't have the part and don't have any estimate of when they will have it.

Anyone else get this recall done yet? I'll be taking my '05 FEH in Friday to get it done. dealer said they have plenty of parts, but since it takes a few hours...they are only doing two hybrid "recalls" a day.
