I did not order my vehcile x-plan. They just sold it to me at invoice.

Remember invoice and what dealers pay for the vehicle are still two different numbers. Plus with the hold backs or entitlements, or whatever they are called in Ford world, they are still making 15%.

Ford is just not cooperating with smaller dealers. I just visited a larger dealer(2 hrs away) and found a Ford Escape Hybrid loaded that I really like. Its a dark gray slate color. Very Nice. But AWD. I am just not convienced the AWD is worth it yet. Actually, without the extra 800 dollars in tax credit and the extra 1700 for AWD, its probably about the same cost over 5 years to buy just a traditional gas vehicle.

When I read an article about people paying invoice or over for the hybrids, thats crazy, because you just dont save enough in gas.

The Rav 4 is now rated around 24 mpg. Looks like the same size as the Escape.

At least $750/yr savings in gas and $4500 tax credit (I'm in Oregon) more than enough to make it worth it over the gas Escape for sure (it also has several upgrades besides hybrid drivetrain) and even more so than a RAV4. RAV4's are expensive.

Default New FEH/MMH Availability Thread

Anyone who ordered in July received their FEH? My dealer quoted 10-12 weeks (I ordered in mid-August), and it's basically 10 weeks since July 1.

Hoping they're on track...

On a separate note, this has been covered before (sorry for the rant), but... Forddirect.com shows the Ford dealer down the street has 32 FEH in stock!

Guess how many they ACTUALLY have? 0, zero, zing, nada... Completely sold out. They've basically kept all FEHs on the page for the last few months.

Autotrader yields no results for my area, good thing I already ordered!

Yes, ordered 7/14 (Saturday) and picked up from the dealer yesterday (9/11). This ended up being 8 weeks & 1 day (can't count the weekend) from order to delivery. It came off the assembly line on 8/29 and was handed off to the carriers on 8/31.

This was for a MMH 4WD version. Not sure if I got lucky or not, but glad it finally did arrive!

Also this was ordered through a dealer that did have 1 available allocation left when I placed my order which may make a difference when comparing to an order that was not part of any allocations.

Now I just need to wait for the dealer to make arrangements to fix some paint chips under the right rear tail light. They are not sure if this happened at the factory or during transportation. At least they will give me a loaner while this is being corrected. Other then that, so far so good with 40 miles placed on it by me & the 11 it had when I took delivery.

I ordered my FEH FWD on June 7, and the dealer received it today, I am going to pick it up tomorrow. That's 14 weeks vs the original quote of 6-8 weeks.

Done!

Just put our name on the list for an '08 MMH. The dealer still had an October allocation available, so we got it. Should be here by Halloween.

Mine was ordered mid-June, picked up on 9/8. About 11 weeks. When I ordered it, he said it could take 6 - 12, so it hit the mark. What surprised me was the lack of notification. He kept sending me weekly updates, "no change on the status," etc etc etc... and then one day there was an email that siad "Guess what was here when I got in this morning? Your new car!" No warning.

Myself I called about every other week looking for an update which was none. I went in one week & asked to see if a VIN was assigned yet as my voice mail was not returned on that request. As it was, I then used that info & went over th blueovalforums.com & used their vehicle locater service once a week. That is how I found out when it was completed & then shipped. The sales person called me when it arrived & to schedule a time for me to get it.

That did help so it was not a big suprise when the dealer called.

They were a little suprised that it only took 8 weeks, but a lady that ordered that same week got hers even earlier (don't know by how much though).

How did u track ur car, by calling the ERL as posted on ovalforums, or by posting your PIN? I tried calling the ERL system and rep said they couldn't locate my order, and dealer told me it has been placed but not given allocation yet.

Posting the PIN. It was funny as even though I did not request the window sticker, when I saw there was an update, it was already downloaded 6 times!

Never did try the ERL.

Until the full VIN is assigned the posting on BlueOvalFormus won't get you anywhere until the vin is assigned.

Even with a partial vin, that won't help as the partial is just the basics that describe what the car is, but not the individual vehicle.

My order was 7/16 and I don't think the vin was assigned until 8/21 or so.
