Not really sure, but I did it. I'm 6'5", so maybe it had something to do with the angle at which my foot was sitting on the floor. Dunno. Either way, hopefully these new ones will hold up better.

 

I'm just a little shy of 74 inches and my weathertech molded floor mats are like new. During the snow months, the melting snow is retained and you just remove them and dump out the water. No moisture seeping into the carpeting and rusting out the floorboard as my old Taurus wagon experienced.
