Walt - good point in your example, in my case the Alpine NAV is also telling me the road (street, ave, etc.) that I am looking to exit onto as well as the exit # and a visual display of the lane I should take - highlighted in yellow - with all three (sometimes more) of those facts I may be able to quickly adjust, assuming the hi-way signage gives me proper data. Worse comes to worse, it recalculates to get me back on track [my favorite is: "U-turn if possible" in that pleasant but serious computer voice]

FYI my 2005 came with 2004 maps (blue labels), but Ford sent me 2005 maps (green labels) for free. You might want to check with you dealer, you might be able to get a backup set.
