I think the real point is, Gary drives every day, every trip (nearly) as if it were a rally.
So while actual, and NOT cherry picking, he's driving in rally conditions (ideal conditions) upwards of 300 days a year. He's cherry picking the driving conditions only.


I have six months of sub freezing, tow, drive 75, use ethanol greater than 10% (15% is now legally approved for all cars 2001 and newer including the FEH). Oh, and I love using air conditioning. I got 54 MPG in a challenge (rally) in 2006 covered by the media, with 5 people in the car... but I average mid 30's.
