Hybrid reliability

Re: Hybrid reliability
On my 08 MMH with almost 3K miles, it has only been back to the dealer to have the rear bumber replaced due to a paint chip when I took delivery (instead of fixing it on my vehicle, they just swaped mine with one on the dealers lot to get me back on the road quicker)
Now just waiting for a real snow storm to see how this little buggy does!

Re: Hybrid reliability
'08 with 6000+ miles. No issues so far. Just rotating the tires as per the manual.
I know that when they started running the first batch of FEH Taxi Fleet vehicles (2005-2006?) that the only reported issue was the water pump. I expect by 2008 that issue had been rectified. Time will tell...

Re: Hybrid reliability
Got mine fixed. Boy is it quiet now! I have "stealth mode" back.
I think mine got noisier slowly over time, and I didn't notice till the noise was obscene. Shop manual says 1.3 hours of labor required.
Dropped mine off at 2pm and it was ready at 3:30pm.
I just sat in the dealer and read.
The service agent at the desk wanted to give me a ride home.
He seemed surprised when I said I would just sit and wait.
He says "well this could take several hours, are you sure you don't want a ride home?" I said nawwww I doubt it will take more than an hour and a half.
Boy was he surprised when I shook his hand and took the keys from him at 3:30. And that was after the free car wash.

Re: Hybrid reliability
Regarding the defective OEM motor electronics cooling pump.
I am coming up on 50k miles with my '06 FEH.
Having read the really good inputs on this, I am considering pre-emptively replacing the pump since these seem to crop up at about 50k miles.
As I read the warranty guide this pump is no longer covered after the bumpr to bumper 36k/3 year warranty expires. In my warranty guide the 8year/100k applies to the traction battery, the transaxle, & the DC-DC converter only.
Anyone have a different take or experience on this?
