How do you reuse the battery sticks from the HV battery?

Re: How do you reuse the battery sticks from the HV battery?
Not a lot you can do with them.
Two sticks in series make a decent 12V battery. Very low capacity, but high current capability. Will start the engine fine, but it won't power much for long without the alternator running.
A bulk/absorp charge voltage of 14.4V with a float around 13.5V should adequately charge them.
With 10 cells in series, it is possible that the cells may go out of balance and require a topping charge. Charging at 0.5A for 16 hours should ensure all cells are fully charged.
Whatever you come up with, NEVER put them in parallel to increase capacity. This is unsafe with Nickel-based chemistries. The voltage drop phenomenon when NiMH hits 100% causes all input current and any parallel attached cells to dump current into the full cell. This can quickly destroy a cell.
