Default How do I remove the engine cover plate on 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid?

Hello!
Can someone please tell me how to take off the white aluminum cover (measures approx.18" X 18" rectangular shape) on top of the engine on my 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid?
I would like to see the engine components underneath it. I'm planning to do a tune-up, maybe change the spark plugs when need to. I used to do it on my old 1995 Ford Taurus, but this one is a Hybrid. Thank you so much for your help. I will appreciate it.

The cover is shaped different on the older models but they are removed the same way. Grab the cover with the left hand on that side and grab the other side with your right hand and jerk straight up to unsnap it. To install, just place the cover on the female and male snaps and press down to snap back in place. Just takes a second to remove and reinstall with no tools. You can use lithium grease on the snaps for the next time you need to remove them to keep them from drying out from all the heat from the engine.

Remember unlike older cars, there isn't much to 'tune up' on a hybrid until after 100,000 miles. No need to change a timing belt, tranny fluid, cap/wires/plugs, etc.
If you read the manual carefully the only thing you need to check regularly is engine oil every 10k miles and air filters.
