Default Hcu

I have a 2008 FEH with 57,000 miles that has a rebuilt/salvage title I bought used. It needs the HCU for the brakes @4500 dollars. Dealer says warranty doesn't cover because it's been wrecked. Does anybody know if this is true?

AFAIK the HCU would only be covered by the 3yr/36000 mile warranty, which would have expired on your FEH.

I'd probably get the part number and look for a used unit at a wrecking yard. Might check eBay too.

I'd get a second opinion on the need for a new HCU. If you do in fact need one, get one from a wrecked or scrapped FEH.
