The navigation system works great. However, the thing that annoys me most is the "safety" feature that disables imputing information while driving. I was the passenger!!! Does anyone know how to fool the system to work around this?

On the flipside, as they're a family-run side-business they're known for pretty bad customer service. Sometimes they're contacted and don't reply for weeks.

 

I don't think those systems would work on the FEH, they look like a Prius only item. The Navmate radio is differant than the Toyota model (which I think is DVD based).

If there is a known, tested, and working device for the FEH, that is the one I would like to go with.

 

Oh, oops. Haha, sorry. I didn't even realize you had an Escape. Wasn't paying attention.

 

I would think that something similar could be done by intercepting the speed signal into the VNR. The signal is needed by the VNR but it might be possible to interupt it long enough to for the passenger to enter a destination, then re-establish the speed signal conection.

 

You would think. Has anyone reading this had any luck hacking it?

 

This would be a great project. It's beyond my mortal powers, but I hope someone can figure this out.
